A clear production process

Controlled handoffs. Visible progress. Consistent output.

Every engagement begins with agreed specifications, file requirements, responsibilities and quality checkpoints.

1

Scope

We review sample files, volume, style, output formats, validation needs and turnaround expectations.

2

Pilot

A representative pilot establishes templates, editorial rules, queries and acceptance criteria.

3

Produce

Dedicated specialists complete editing, composition, XML, HTML, metadata and technical preparation.

4

Check

Independent quality checks compare outputs against source files, specifications and requested standards.

5

Deliver

Final files are organised, named and supplied with correction records or validation reports as agreed.

Quality by design

Production accuracy is built into each stage.

Our approach combines documented specifications, specialist production, structured checks and transparent correction cycles. We adapt to each publisher’s template, platform and metadata requirements rather than forcing every project into one fixed workflow.

Source fidelityContent, figures, tables, equations and references are reconciled against supplied files.
Format consistencyPDF, HTML, XML and metadata outputs are checked for alignment across formats.
Technical validationLinks, identifiers, XML structure, fonts, images and file packaging are reviewed before delivery.
Documented correctionsQueries and revisions are tracked so changes are clear and reproducible.

About Signa Publications

Specialist support for scholarly publishing teams.

Signa Publications is a publishing-support service provider. We work with publishers, journal offices, academic societies, universities and research institutions that need dependable editorial and production capacity.

Our role is operational and technical: preparing accepted scholarly content for accurate, accessible and discoverable publication. We do not present this website as a journal portfolio. Our work supports the people and systems behind scholarly communication, but editorial decisions, indexing outcomes and citation performance remain with the responsible publisher and external services.

Accurate

Specifications and source files guide every production decision.

Transparent

Scope, responsibilities, corrections and deliverables are defined clearly.

Flexible

Support can scale from a single conversion project to ongoing production.

Confidential

Client files are handled only for the agreed publishing-support purpose.

Frequently asked questions

Before starting a project

Send a sample manuscript and your technical requirements for a more accurate assessment.

Who do you work with?

We support scholarly publishers, journal editorial offices, academic societies, universities, research centres and other organisations responsible for producing academic content.

Can we order only one service?

Yes. A project may cover one focused requirement—such as platform maintenance, copyediting, a citation audit, galley-proof preparation or JATS XML—or combine technology, editorial and production support in one managed workflow.

What kinds of projects can you handle?

We support publishing-platform development, workflow improvements, database and server work, manuscript editing, peer-review administration, PDF/HTML/XML production, metadata and DOI support, digitisation, migration, analytics and editorial-team training. Scope is confirmed after reviewing your requirements.

Do you assign DOIs directly?

We prepare and validate DOI metadata and can support deposits through a publisher’s authorised Crossref or other registration account. Identifier ownership, registration eligibility and fees remain with the authorised registrant.

Does a similarity report prove plagiarism?

No. Similarity software identifies matching text; editorial experts must interpret the report and determine whether any overlap is acceptable, cited, reused or potentially problematic.

Can you follow our journal style?

Yes. We can apply existing style guides and templates or document a project-specific style sheet during a pilot stage.

How is pricing determined?

Pricing depends on manuscript complexity, word count, tables, equations, source quality, output formats, volume, turnaround and validation requirements. A sample file allows us to provide a practical quotation.

Do you guarantee indexing or acceptance?

No. We provide editorial-production and technical support. Acceptance, DOI eligibility, repository acceptance and indexing decisions belong to the relevant publisher, registration agency, repository or database.
